In this episode, Corey sits down with Ben McBride who is a native of San Francisco, spiritual leader and longtime activist for peace and justice in the Bay Area. In 2008, he relocated his family to a difficult neighborhood in Oakland called the “Kill Zone” to understand and respond to the epidemic of gun violence, firsthand. During this tenure, he was an instrumental leader of relaunching Oakland’s first successful iteration of Operation Ceasefire, a data-driven, violence reduction strategy, contributing heavily to a 50% reduction in homicides over five years.
Corey and Ben talk about justice, "woke culture" and the nuances of trying to promote justice in a polarized society.

In this episode, Corey has a riveting conversation with Tina Strawn who is an advocate for justice and peace. Tina shares her journey from fundamentalism to freedom to pursue the deep truth she finds within herself and her social activism.
Tina is now a full-time antiracism educator and facilitator, and a social justice advocate and activist. In addition to leading Legacy trips, Tina also leads online webinars and live workshops, and she offers individual and organizational antiracism coaching and consulting. Tina is also the co-host of the Speaking of Racism podcast and she travels and hosts screenings and discussions of HBO's documentary, "True Justice: Bryan Stevenson's Fight for Equality." Tina comes into the work first and foremost as a Black, Queer woman having lived her entire life in the US. She teaches and learns and facilitates through the lens of Black feminism and critical race theory for the purpose of Black liberation.

He is the pastor of The Way Christian Fellowship in Berkley California and an organizer of numerous justice initiatives Nationwide designed to address gun violence, mass incarceration, and criminal justice reform.
Michael has advocated for the black community from the streets of Oakland to Capitol Hill and is one of the many modern-day activists who have taken on the mantle of Dr. King. Corey and Michael talk about the theology behind justice work and why so many Evangelicals shy away from the work.
